Welcome to Ponteland First School
Ponteland First School is situated in a new purpose-built facility within the heart of the attractive village of Ponteland, 8 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It serves a diverse community, attracting pupils from the local area and villages as well from Newcastle. We are a non-selective community First school providing education and enjoyment for children from Nursery through to Year 4.
Our fundamental aim is to provide a secure, happy and hardworking environment in which children of all abilities can learn with confidence. We encourage our whole school community to respect and care for one another and we strive for excellence in everything we do.
Our recent Ofsted report confirms that our Foundation Stage is rated Outstanding.
"All staff offer children many challenging activities both indoors and outdoors, including in the school's woodland area, in a stimulating and exceptionally caring environment. Accordingly, children respond by becoming extremely caring and confident individuals and they flourish as they are engaged in creative activities, such as construction and imaginative play."
